Agencies now have 31 new ways to buy professional services

The General Services Administration has expanded the availability of contractors on its governmentwide hybrid acquisition vehicle, the One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services Small Business (OASIS SB) Pool 2 contract, to include 161 small businesses.

The OASIS and OASIS SB contracts enable agencies to acquire a broad range of services, such as program management, management consulting, logistics, engineering, scientific and financial services, all under one contract.

GSA developed an on-ramp for the OASIS SB that resulted in the addition of 31 new small businesses to the contract.

GAO: Agency Shouldn’t Have Allowed Bid Correction – SmallGovCon

When a contractor submits a sealed bid that includes a mistake, the contractor may be allowed to correct its bid, if there must be clear evidence of the error on the face of the bid.

According to a recent GAO decision, however, absent clear evidence, it is unreasonable for an agency to allow a bid correction.

Section 809 Panel Issues First Report

The Section 809 Panel released its first of three reports this week. This 642 page tome can be downloaded here. The Section 809 Panel, you will recall, was named for Section 809 of the 2016 NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) from which it gained its status and authority. Its objective is to make recommendations that will enable DoD to more consistently buy what it needs in a timely and cost-effective manner.

DoD memo starts to cleave its acquisition office in half, reassigns workforce – FederalNewsRadio.com

Defense acquisition civilian personnel will see no changes in their title, series or grade as the Defense Department begins to cleave the office of acquisition, technology and logistics in half on Feb. 1.

Jan. 31 memo obtained by Federal News Radio and signed by Deputy Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan outlines just how the Pentagon will split its acquisition office into an office of research and engineering and an office of acquisition and sustainment. Congress mandated the split in the 2017 defense authorization act.
