New Electronic Format for FAR Available for Free Download | PNWC’s Government Contracting Update

If you have an iPhone or or an iPad or if you have iTunes on your computer, you can now download a free copy of the FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) to read (oh boy!) or reference. GSA (General Services Administration) released an iBook version of FAR last week. If you have an Android device or use Kindle, you will have to wait a little while longer. Those versions are coming, GSA promised.

Former NASA Employee Pleads Guilty to Making False Statements Concerning His Interactions with Contractors | OPA | Department of Justice

A former NASA employee pleaded guilty today to making false statements in connection with an investigation into his interactions with contractors, announced Assistant Attorney General Leslie R. Caldwell of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein of the District of Maryland and NASA Inspector General Paul K. Martin.

Nathaniel Wright, 55, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Theodore D. Chuang of the District of Maryland.  He is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 25, 2017.

US Launches IT Contract to Spur Cybersecurity Purchases | Government | E-Commerce Times

The U.S. government plans to initiate an updated contracting vehicle for the acquisition of cybersecurity information technologies for federal agencies this month. The purpose of the program is to make it easier and more efficient for federal agencies to obtain cyber protection services. Specifically, GSA will include cyber technology providers on a major listing of approved federal contractors.
