GAO generally defers to an agency’s judgment when it comes to the evaluation of proposals. This deference flags, however, when an agency evaluates competing proposals inconsistently; or, in other words, treats offerors disparately.

DHS to move on from Eagle II — Washington Technology

Last week, the Department of Homeland Security released a huge RFI for Information Technology (IT) Compute and Storage Modernization, Cloud Migration, and Data Center Optimization that needs to be on your radar. At $6.8 billion, DHS has the largest IT portfolio in the civilian government, so the funding available for a project of this magnitude at the department is likely to be significant, which means there may be extensive opportunity for technology vendors.

Senators hope to secure back pay for contractors affected by government shutdown – Federal News Network

A group of nearly 40 senators are urging the appropriations committee to include back pay for federal contractors impacted by the last government shutdown, in an upcoming disaster relief package. They want to include the back pay provision in a supplemental appropriations bill. Sen. Susan Collins, from Maine, was the only Republican to sign on. Sens. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) Ben Cardin (D-Md.) Tim Kaine (D-Va.) and Mark Warner (D-Va.) were part of the group that wrote to Appropriations Committee Chairman Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) and Ranking Member Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.).
