Huge Opportunity Opens Up for Small Business on CDM | Government Sales Insider

The Continuous Diagnostic and Mitigation (CDM) program has gone through a lot of changes since it was first launched in 2013. And, each step of the way seems to make the program easier for companies to participate.

The program’s latest change allows companies to include Small Business to be part of CDM and play a bigger role in the program. As the program moves into its next phases, this could be a huge opportunity for companies that have not historically been able to participate.

Contractor Waives Its Rights to File a Claim

In 2014, the AAFES (Army and Air Force Exchange Service) awarded a contract to Team Hall Venture to operate a frozen yogurt concession at a food court on a military base. The contract period of performance was for up to ten years. The concession opened that November but had to close from time to time due to rodent infestation and flooding. About a year and a half after opening, the concession ceased operations and the contract was terminated.

In the past three years, DoD awarded nearly $21 billion in Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreements — using the approach to fund prototypes and production for night vision goggles, parachutes that can carry more weight, miniature satellites and a host of other ideas.
